First Carrots!

Since Paige is 6 months old now, and doing so well with cereal, we gave carrots a try! The first bite was a bit of a shock, but after that she was pretty excited and snarfed them down!

Memorial Weekend 2008

Paige took her first trip to "The Lake" over Memorial weekend. The family (minus Maggie who kept Jessie company instead) headed up on Saturday and stayed until Monday night. Paige did awesome! She spent a lot of time watching Katie, getting cuddled, drinking milk, same old. She saw some baby ducks in the water, peed on the bed, and even tried Katie's swing! Didn't cry a bit until we got in the car to go home. She cried for about an hour and a half then...sigh. If you've been keeping up with the blog, you know she is teething. About an hour in none of us could stand it anymore. Mike pulled over for a diaper change (Paige's, not his, Sauk Centre isn't THAT far) and some time out of the carseat...that seemed to do the trick.

It MUST be Summer!

Here are some pictures of Paige enjoying grass for the first time! This is of course not at our house as Paige is not interested in laying in the sand with ants and dandelions. Thanks to Grandma and Grandpa Blake for the pictures AND the yard!

I shared the news of Paige's first tooth with my kids at school. The conversation quicly turned to "Chalie bit me!" By popular demand, here it is!

Fish Friend

Since Paige has been keeping such late hours lately (Mommy has a sneaking suspicion this has something to do with her new toothy) we decided to spend our extra evening time together at Epiphany's Spring Fest. The goal was to show Paige fireworks, but we didn't make it to 10 PM. Paige had plenty of energy still, but Mommy thought it was getting a little too chilly out for babies. When I said to Mike "Brrrr! I'm getting kind of cold! I wish I had a better sweater on the baby!" his response was "'SWEATER: What a baby wears when its mother is cold".....ha ha right? Anyway, we did manage to eat some mini donuts and play a few games. To Paige's delight, mommy won her a goldfish by getting a ping pong ball into a little cup. I'm sure she will enjoy him the rest of the week!

PS. His name is Wally.

Post Bath Photo Shoot

She'll probably kill me for posting these someday. They are so cute....I'm willing to risk it.

A Weekend of FIRSTS!

First first: Mommy, Daddy, and Paige got to meet Linda (new daycare lady) for the first time! We can tell that Paige is going to love it at Linda's. In fact, she was so comfortable that she fell asleep in Linda's lap while the grown ups were visiting. I'm still very sad that Paige has just a few more weeks with her Wendy, but I think Linda will love our little sweetie too.

Second first: While playing with Paigey this morning I discovered her first little tooth! I know for a FACT it wasn't quite through yesterday around 6pm. Mike's aunt Colleen had asked if she was teething. I said her gums were swollen, but no teeth. I poked my finger in her mouth when we got home to double check. No tooth then but at 6:20 this morning it was in there! She didn't seem to mind getting this tooth at all! We're keeping our fingers crossed for the rest of em.

Third first: Within an hour of discovering her first tooth, Paige had her first, unassisted, roll from tummy to back!

What an eventful 24 hours!

Our FIRST Mother's Day!

Here are some pics of Mommy and Paige on their FIRST mother's day together! The days activities included:
--Daddy getting up with Paige first thing in the morning for a diaper change and a bottle and bowl of rice cereal. Kind of an ironic day to officially be done nursing, was nice to sleep in a bit though.
--Mommy and Paige played "ride the horsey", played with rings, hugged and kissed, and played with rings again. Papa did a nice little photo shoot for us.
--Mama took some fun little pictures of Paige and marveled (on Mother's Day) how much the baby looks like papa!
--Mommy made muffins, Papa cleaned up.
--We watched an Indiana Jones marathon!
--We took a walk to the park, doggies and all! It was a little windy....not too fun for Paige.
--Paige took a snooze, Mom and Dad did a little housework and started lunch. We also had a fight about something called "forever stamps"...I lost.
--We all had lunch, Papa cleaned up.
--Mommy and Paige got sleepy so we cuddled up for a nap together. Paige spent the first 10 minutes slapping mommy in the face (I had strings on my hooded sweatshirt that were impossible to resist) but eventually settled in. I heard Charlie Brown say once that happiness is a warm puppy. Warm puppies are good, but you can't beat a lazy Sunday afternoon nap with a little round warm baby snoring next to you.
--Up for dinner and more playing. Papa cleaned up.
--Currently, Papa is giving Paige a bath and will whip up more rice ceral when they are done. Mommy is blogging and gearing up for a few hours of project grading.
--A few more hugs and kisses and our first Mother's day will be over. What a perfect day!
I love you Paigey!
--Mom

Paige and David=Love

This past Tuesday night, I was doing some work around the house with Americal Idol on in the living room. Paige, who was swinging in her chair, eventually found the TV and was enjoying the program as well.

Little David Archuleta began singing some intoxicating tune so I came to the living room to watch. The funniest thing in the world was Paige's concentration on David's performance. She sat in her swing and smiled while gazing into David's eyes. Much like a teenage girl would swoon over a male pop idol (i can only assume).

My favorite part in the video is how after I interupt her she looks back to David and smiles really big again.

She did that throughout the entire song so it wasn't like the video was a rare "perfect timing" clip. How funny

I guess maybe I shoud work harder at being the hearthrob in the house because Mommy does the same thing when David Cook comes on TV.

On second thought, maybe I should change my name to David.

I think i'm going to print out a poster of David Archuleta and hang it on the wall in Paige's room. She might like that.

Sneak Peak at Dedication Photos

WHEW! We are EXHAUSTED! Way too tired to post a run-down of the entire weekend, but here are a few pics to enjoy for now. Check back soon for all the details. Be sure to check Eaglebrooks website (http://www.eaglebrookchurch.com/) to see a podcast of the service. We don't know yet if it will include the actual dedication, but the message was good nonetheless.

Special Bulletin

Breaking News: Days after being discovered, Paige has finally apprehended her toes (aka-"stinky pigs"). They are seen here being taken into custody. Moments later these elusive pigs escaped but were taken back into custody....and then escaped again.....and then detained for a short time......and then mommy put Paige's socks back on.
