Paige is losing her wardrobe

Well... We haven't posted in a while because our digital camera, which we’ve only had since June 07, is no longer cooperating with us. One day, out of the blue, it stopped powering on for us. We need to look into purchasing another camera before Paige starts walking and talking.

Jen and I also picked out a new color for the basement walls. The deep mustard yellow we started with after the remodel needed to go, so for a few days I've had the computer desk shoved against the other desk with not much room for playing.

We had to retire a few more of Paige’s pajamas yesterday do to her getting to be such a big girl. We're happy to see her growing but it’s also sad to know she's growing.
We got a letter from the University of Minnesota in the mail shortly after Paige was born. Apparently almost every new parent gets this letter to let them know that the UofM does little experiments and tests on newborns to chart how babies learn and communicate. They don’t do anything scary or harmful to the babies. I decided to fill the postcard out and send it back stating that we might be interested in coming in on a Saturday afternoon for a few hours to let them do experiments on Paige. I'll post again if they get back to me.

Paige gets comfortable behind a mic

Paige and Daddy had a date night while Mommy was home grading papers. First we went to Grandpa and Grandma G's house to snuggle then traveled to our friends band space in Minneapolis. Matt and John watched her get a diaper change and got to listen to Paige crying into the microphone. It was even louder coming through the speakers and I don't think she liked it.

Super Bowl Party

We watched Super Bowl 42 at Auntie Katie and Uncle Ben's house tonight. We had a good time with lots of good finger foods prepared. Paige slept for the first half (no surprise) but then she came out of her car seat to converse and watch the game. She enjoyed their big wide screen TV!

She got a new purple Bumbo seat that she seems to be ok with. There are more pictures of that in our February Picasa photo album. Clicking on the slide show on the top left of the blog page will take you there.

It's really fun to see her smile and interact with us lately. She's turning into such a big girl.

Ok, so she's not really jumping on the ottoman, but she is learning how to use those muscles.

2 Month Baby Stats

We piled in the car on a day that no human being should be outside (do to the 20 below temp, plus or minus a degree or two) and we headed to Paige's 2 month doctor visit. She did very well until the first of two shots was administered to her little baby legs. You should have seen the transformation. There she was, minding her own business, sucking on her pacifier when all of a sudden her mouth opened and her arms tensed up. There wasn't a sound for a good six seconds and her entire head turned the color of a prize tomato! She laid bewildered just long enough for the nice nurse to poke Paige's other leg and stick the Daffy Duck and Circus themed band-aids on her.

Mom was waiting to comfort her and held her close. Suprisingly, she finished crying in a matter of 15-20 seconds. That's my girl.

She still has to get one more shot that they were out of but she's got a month or so before she has to relive the experience.

At 2 months Paige weights 9 lbs, she is 21 1/2 inches long, her head is 14 inches round and she is happens to hold a trophy for cutest 2 month old in the world! She is in the 10th percentile for her weight, 25th percentile for her height and 15th percentile for her head size.

Paige has been sleeping well

It's only been a few days since we started using our sleepy-time technique and I really think its made a difference. The last couple of nights have been filled with a good 6 hours of shut eye for all of us. Naps have been easier, too. As long as she isn't scared that she has been left alone and can comfort herself when she wakes through the night, she can get more sleep and Mommy and Daddy can get more sleep. The dogs sleep all the time anyway.

I realize that this is probably only temporary. As she gets older she will have other things that cause sleepless nights but for now, I couldn't ask for more.
