How's Paige doing?

People ask us all the time "how's Paige?" We always just smile and say "she's doing great!" The truth is, I could spend half a day answering that question. She's a toddler...so she's... funny and frustrating, and lovable, and smart, soooo cute. She makes us feel happy and worried and annoyed and so lucky. She's....well...complicated! Here are some tid-bits to give you an idea of the fun we are having at the Gonzalez house...

Paige has started brushing her teeth! She got a toothbrush and "training" toothpaste from Santa. What a TREAT!

Its so fun to see her playing and pretending. She's always serving us fake food, putting people in the doll house and then quickly pushing them out the front door (slamming shut behind them by the way). She covers her dollies with blankets and cuddles them. She even does fake "slurp, slurp, slurp" noises when she feeds them fake bottles.

Speaking of pretending, here she is pretending to be Maggie.

She has gotten a little creative with what she wants to wear/not wear. She likes to put buckets and blankets on her head and walk around. The other night she ended up in just her socks, one shoe and a stocking hat.

She had her FIRST haircut last month! It wasn't much. Just a little off the front and a little less 'mullett'. I'm glad for these kinds of experiences because I get to feel like she's little still. Too little to be doing so many big girl things.

Paige had her first friends over to her new playroom recently. The girls pretty much ignored each other outside of a little "That's my dollie" "Uh, NO its MY dollie." Caeden played with every toy I think. "Hey guys! Yook at this!"

Paige is almost 19 pounds so her food allergies don't seem to be slowing her down much. She's getting pretty good with a sippy cup and only has one bottle a day. Favorite foods right now seem to be cheerios, hot dogs, noodles, chicken nuggets...she (thankfully) has been going nuts over the allergen-free cake we baked this weekend. As far as the rest of her health shes doing pretty good. She's had some really nasty ear infections but we finally got her on the right antibiotics. She just saw Dr. Dessa today and she said her ears look pretty good. A little fluid still, but no infection. She also told me that Paige has a heart murmur. She was quick to point out that it sounds minor, we'll just monitor it blah, blah, blah. I haven't decided how upset I am yet. I wish I would've told her that we've noticed that Paige's heart about pounds out of her chest when she is sick (fever/crying). I thought I was just being an obnoxious new mommy to notice something like that. Maybe I'll call her tomorrow.

I had to end on this picture! This is what happens when we say "Paige, where's your nose?" We're so proud.

More updates soon!

What a fantastic update! And that last picture is priceless. ;) Sorry about the food allergies and heart murmur. Hope everything's okay!

Technology is great...isn't it? I love this. It is so bookmarked on my computer.

She is such a little girl, isn't she. Keep up the good work and Paige, you keep mommy and daddy playing, they are loving every minute of it. Don't let them fool you. That is what I miss with teenagers, I've lost my excuse to play.
