mmmmmm......spoiled ham.......

Spam is now on the menu for our darling daughter.
We are really trying to encourage her to eat and drink her new milk, and she's been happy to honor that request. In fact, she started saying "Happy! Happy!" at the dinner table tonight. I was worried (and the nutritionist at the U warned us) that she might fill up on the pediatric drink and not have an appetite for her real food. Not the case however. In the last 24 hours her intake has included (but not been limited to):
french toast
eggs
milk
fruit
chicken breast
green beans
mashed potatoes
veggie straws
apple pie
and yes
spam.
We got lab results from her appointment today....I assume its good news...its like a foreign language. I do know that a lot of things are labeled "negative" or <.035 interp.....is that good? I didn't know that they were going to do more food allergy testing, but I am happy to see that she is NOT allergic to:
eggwhites
fish (cod)
wheat
barley
maize
rice
pea
peanut
soybean
crab
shrimp
tomato
orange
and
tuna
Milk is still indicated as an allergen at 5.86KU(A)/L. I need to look up her old labs to see if that number is any higher or lower than it was 4 months ago....as much as I love kirkland vanilla soy milk we are hoping that she'll grow out of the milk allergy eventually......
and the best news?
Paige has not gained more than 5 or 6 oz since Christmas....hovering between 17lbs 11oz and 18lbs 2 0z mostly. In fact she had been 18lbs 2oz each time we weighed her last week.....Wednesday....Thursday....Sunday....
Tonight she was 19lbs 6oz! Poor little thing couldn't even find her belly button in the bathtub without lifting her tummy waaaaaay up!
I didn't know how relieved I would be to know that she CAN gain some weight...even if it isn't as much as she should...even if she doesn't keep it all...I feel so much better knowing that she can...thanks to the spam diet.
