How on EARTH did Paigey get the swine flu....
We had Paige's 18 month well baby visit today( guess what....she's WELL!). Obviously we knew that a big portion of our time would be spent talking about Paige's whirlwind of recent medical experiences. Luckily, Dr. Dessa is a devoted blog reader and was pretty up to speed! Okay, okay, so she also has been communicating with Dr. Sudel and Dr. Singh at University Children's hospital....but the blog has PICTURES!
She mentioned the picture posted above as one of the funnier "swine flu" items she has run across, so we HAD to post it. While that little kid sort of looks like Paige, it isn't.....though it would explain where she picked up H1N1....
In less hilarious medical news, Paige sees her GI doctor tomorrow. He will have the result of her biopsy and will help us figure out how to make the tube feeds work a little better for us too.
In even LESS hilarious medical news, we are already up to our ears in "forms" related to Paige's hospital stay. We got a phone call today saying that Paige's VERY FIRST APPOINTMENT at the U was DENIED coverage...back in MARCH people!! Of course, it actually is covered, but we needed to fill out a form first. I spoke with the patient relations people at the U and they suggested we get Paigey's medical records released from this whole ordeal....keep in mind she was in the Emergency Department at University, Emergency Department at Unity, in an Ambulance, in PICU at Children's and general Peds at Children's....2 to 3 forms minimum to get what we need...with possible fees....in 3 to 4 business days before I can speak intelligently to patient relations....
sigh
Well...she's better and that's all that matters. We'll find the money and motivation to deal with anything that we need to in order to put this all behind us. :)
