Breakfast in Bed

(Not the actual tray described in the following post....Paige isn't allowed to light the fireplace until she is 3)

Its Saturday. Its JUST 7:00 am. Mike and I are still happily sleeping. Paige is in her crib whining. Paige is in her crib calling "mommy!?" Sigh.

The thing is, I might as well get up. Her food pump will be empty and alarming any second, that diaper is to full capacity of wet (or worse), there are tubes that need to be drained, that "mommy!?" will soon be a "MOOOMMMYYYY!!" Sigh.

So, Daddy rolled over, and Mommy got up. We went through our whole morning routine and to my surprise, Paige was antsy to get into her playroom and play (she tends to be a little clingy in the am and needs to be held for a little bit....no matter HOW bad you need to go to the bathroom...

Anyway, so she hustled into her playroom. I looked left, I looked right...I didn't see any reason to go back to bed. Bathroom door shut, stairs gated off, our bedroom door open enough to see and hear her. I hopped back in bed.

Mike slept. I listened to her play...What was she doing in there? I could hear clanging and banging, she was talking up a storm but nothing I could discern with one ear buried in my pillow a room away...

All of a sudden the noise stopped and I could hear veeerrrryyyy slow footsteps coming into the hall, around the corner, and into our room.

Paige had filled her tea set tray with play-food and was bringing it to Mommy and Daddy in bed! She carefully handed me the "plate" and then instructed us what to eat. Mommy got to drink from the little play milk carton, but Daddy had to drink from the baby bottle (giggle-snort).

That is so sweet! What an adorable little girl you have Jenny!

Maybe that was Paige's way of saying thank you for taking such good care of her these past few weeks!

:)
