Como Zoo May 30th, 2009

Here are some of Paige and Daddy with the conservatory in the background...and the parking lot. It took us about half an hour to park...which was annoying but expected. She was sleeping anyway.

I'm not sure what was so funny about the buffalo....I wasn't amused when she called one "mama!"

The carousel might have been more fun for her to watch than it was to ride...We enjoyed watching her!

I was impressed at Easter when Paige used toddler instinct to successfully complete and Easter egg hunt. She used it again at the Zoo. She would walk up to each exhibit, get as close as she could, and look for the animals. In the picture above she found the tiger. Every time she would see and animal her WHOLE body would stiffen up and she'd scream "OH!!" Then she'd giggle or clap or whip her head around and look at us as if to say "can you believe this!" I think all little kids like the zoo, but since Paige was the only kid reacting the way the fans did in old Beatles footage, I'd say she loves the zoo! We're also big into saying "bye" right now. It was fun to teach her the name/sound of all the animals so she could properly wave good bye. "Byyyyyeeeee tiger!"

"Byyyyeeeee Baf!"

"Byeeeeee 'ooh-ooh'!" (monkey sound if you weren't sure)

"Byyyyyyeeeeee horsey!"
Hey, I tried to get her to say "bye mighty zebra" with a short e sound like in Discovery channel programs narrated by English actors, but it didn't take.

For the record, she also said "byyyyyyeeeeee oof-oof (doggie sound) to the lions and screamed out "MELMO!!" (Elmo) when we saw the little monkeys with the big white handlebar moustaches.....AND she pointed to every car that drove by and called it a bus.....sigh.... :) On a more encouraging note, she saw a picture of a pizza on the wall of the grocery store yesterday and very matter-of-factly said 'pizza'. Not bad considering she's never eaten pizza before.....

Here is one of her looking at some "fishys" that were bigger than she was.

Hanging out with Daddy eating some lunch. She had a lot of fun just chillin in 'Como Town' watching the other kids and the rides.

We all took naps when we got home. Here's how we found her just before dinner. It looks like she had a lot to dream about.
