University Children's Hospital

Just a quick update before I head back to the hospital to meet mommy and Paigey. Nurse Gretchen and the two of us needed to put a new NG tube in last night to get some nutrition into Paige. That was not fun for any of us. Let's just say she didn't get to enjoy the mandarin oranges for too long as they were quickly dispensed due to the incredibly uncomfortable gag reflexes she was experiencing. Poor Paigey.

She had yet another chest x-ray around 8:00pm to ensure the tube was placed safely before we started her on her food for the night. This girl has had about 7 or 8 x-rays taken in the last 4 days. Seems like we should be worried about glowing toes at this point.



Paige finally got to sleep and does alright until she wakes up a little and panics for Mommy. I headed home at about 11:00pm last night to take care of a few things and heard back from Jen this morning.

Last night went crummy. Paige vomited all over Mommy and bunny and had to have oxgen again. So much for maybe taking a healthy girl home this afternoon.

By the way, the University Children's Hospital has been wonderful. Gretchen, our first nurse when we arrived, has been in the room with us the entire time (ok, so she has to be) and it's a great comfort. I met nurse Sarah before I left and I felt comforted that she was going to take care of my family for me.

I'm going to head back and bring some clothes for Jen since I think she is just in scrubs right now. We'll try to keep everyone posted as soon as possible.
